Restarting the TaskCentre services

Updated over 2 weeks ago

There are two services that Orbis utilises. The first is the main "Access TaskCentre Service" and the second is the "Access TaskCentre Schedule Agent" which allows tasks to run automatically on a schedule.

To start these services:

  1. Log on to the server where the Orbis Task Centre is installed

  2. Open up Control Panel and then Administrative Tools (steps to find these will differ depending on operating system)

  3. From within Administrative Tools, double-click on Services

  4. In the window that opens, find the first service called "Access TaskCentre Service"

  5. Right click on this and select "Start" (if it is greyed out, then the service is already running)

  6. A loading bar will appear on the screen while this is starting and will automatically close when the service is running again. "Running" will also show in the status column to show the action has been successful

  7. Repeat for the second service called "Access TaskCentre Schedule Agent"

If you are finding that you have to restart the services regularly, you may want to set these services to start automatically:

  5. Right click on this and select Properties

  6. Change the "Startup Type" to "Automatic"

  7. Click OK to save the changes

  8. Repeat for the second service called "Access TaskCentre Schedule Agent"
