Error - 'Module cannot be loaded (0x8007007b)' and won't run the client

This error can occur when the application cannot access the values for the registry keys:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Orbis Software\TaskCentre\ID1

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Orbis Software\TaskCentre\ID2

Permissions for these keys must be set to allow the TaskCentre application access to read and write to and from these keys. Please contact your IT to set this up.

An alternative to this is to set the application to Run as Administrator.

If running the application as Administrator and giving full permissions to these registry keys does not work, the software may have become corrupted.
To fix this:

  1. Browse to Add/Remove Programs within Windows

  2. Highlight the TaskCentre application and click "Change"

  3. Choose "Repair" and follow the on screen instructions until this is complete

  4. Restart the TaskCentre services
