You may need to restart the TaskCentre services if tasks have stopped running or users can't log in.
TaskCentre uses two Windows services: **Access TaskCentre Service** (the main service) and **Access TaskCentre Schedule Agent** (which allows tasks to run on a schedule). Follow these steps to start them:
Log in to the server running TaskCentre.
Open **Control Panel**, then open **Administrative Tools**.
From within **Administrative Tools**, double-click **Services**.
Find the service named **Access TaskCentre Service**.
Right-click the service and select **Start**. If it is greyed out, the service is already running.
A progress bar will appear and close automatically when the service is running. 'Running' will show in the status column.
Repeat steps 4 to 6 for the **Access TaskCentre Schedule Agent** service.
If you need to restart the services regularly, set them to start automatically following these steps:
Log in to the server running TaskCentre.
Open **Control Panel**, then open **Administrative Tools**.
From within **Administrative Tools**, double-click **Services**.
Find the service named **Access TaskCentre Service**.
Right-click the service and select **Properties**.
Change the **Startup Type** to **Automatic**.
Click **OK** to save the changes.
Repeat steps 4 to 7 for the **Access TaskCentre Schedule Agent** service.
