Access Task Centre scheduler service starts and then stops

Updated over a week ago

The most common reason for this is that the service is running under an account with insufficient permissions. Please ensure the account has permissions first of all.

Otherwise, it is likely that something on the system is forcing the service to shut off.

Check the windows event log. If you see an error that refers to the following: faulting module ntdll.dll , this indicates that the reason the service is stopping is coming form outside of the Orbis/Task Centre software (the ntdll.dll is a windows system file).

The most common reasons for this are:

  • The system is awaiting a restart following windows updates.

  • Something in the system (such as anti-virus or security software) is stopping the service.

  • There are issues with the resources on the system in question.

  • There are compatibility issues on the system in question.

  • The ntdll.dll has become corrupt.

Please refer to your internal IT team to investigate this further.
